What I did
In 2024 Loblaw Companies entered their first ever partnership with Disney. This partnership saw two great brands partner to deliver an exceptional digital and in store shopping experience for customers who love all things marvel. In early 2024, I was promoted to lead of DX Studio: Loblaw Digital’s in house digital experience studio responsible for rapidly developing digital journeys for some of Loblaw’s most ambitious and far reaching projects.
DX Studio was tapped to create the digital component for an instore scavenger hunt which would see shoppers scanning QR codes and sharing user details which would allow them to enter a contest for a free trip to Disney World.
How I did it
Faced with an aggressive two-month timeline, I led my team through the product lifecycle to develop a landing page for the in-store scavenger hunt. Leveraging product and project management best practices, I structured our approach by:
Gathering stakeholder feedback and creating user stories, then translating them into actionable Jira tickets with effort estimates.
Developing a detailed workback schedule and milestone list for pacing approvals.
Collaborating with the DX Studio design team to create wireframes, mockups, and a staging site for stakeholder review.
Managing the critical Disney approval process by creating an interactive copy and approval matrix to ensure timely execution.
Partnering with Engineering, Privacy, and Security leads to ensure secure user data collection and storage.
Compiling a cost breakdown for the project.
Results
The Marvel program was a significant success, with the scavenger hunt landing page receiving over 100K views in its initial weeks. It drove strong engagement, with 80% of pcexpress.ca orders opting in for cards and approximately 9.4K Add-to-Carts from the product collection page. Crucially, the framework and discovery work established by the DX Studio team for this initiative now serve as a scalable foundation for future annual campaigns, starting in 2025.
